Forex trading journal software for currency pairs, trade plans, and review
A currency pair and a result tell only part of the story. Keep your entry plan, execution prices, quantity, and decision notes together so you can revisit why you took a trade and how you managed it.
What to record in a forex trading journal
Record the currency pair, such as EURUSD, alongside your direction and execution details. Keep the planned entry separate from the actual entry so your review can explain what changed.
Use this checklist as a starting point for your own journal:
- Currency-pair symbol, direction, quantity, and the account used.
- Planned and actual entry, exit prices and times, stop, and target.
- Timeframe, session context in your notes, commissions, and other fees.
- Setup, entry reason, emotional state, and what would invalidate the plan.
- Screenshots, execution notes, and one lesson to revisit.
Keep currency pairs, quantities, and costs in context
Check what the quantity in your source record represents before entering it. Quantity does not automatically mean lot conversion. Keep a note of the sizing convention used by your platform so you can interpret the record later.
Do not assume automatic pip valuation or automatic account-currency conversion. Confirm the pair, quantity, and monetary context against your source records before relying on a calculated result.
Review the costs as well as the move
Record known commissions and fees. You can describe spread conditions or overnight financing in your notes as review context; these notes do not trigger dedicated spread or financing calculations. Missing fees or financing in imported data mean incomplete evidence, not necessarily zero cost.
A journal documents your decisions; it does not remove the risks of forex trading. Read the trading risk disclaimer.
Capture the session and the reason behind your entry
Use pending-trade planning to record the pair, timeframe, intended entry, stop, and target. Add the session you were trading and what you observed to your notes. A session label provides context for your own review; it is not a trading signal.
Basic checklists are included in Essential. Advanced checklists and Setup Playbook require Professional or Elite; screenshot limits also depend on your plan. View Plans for the current feature details.

Compare your planned entry, stop, and target with what you actually did. Use screenshots, entry and exit reasons, and psychology notes to distinguish a deliberate decision from an impulsive change. Daily journaling, weekly review, and the performance calendar are included in Essential.
Advanced performance analytics are available on Professional and Elite. Analysis depends on the trades and evidence you have recorded; it is not a forecast of future results.
Explore performance reviewQuestions for your next review
- Did the entry follow the original plan?
- Was the planned invalidation respected?
- Did the recorded quantity and known costs match your source records?
- What decision should you repeat or change?
These are prompts for your own reflection, not claims of automated evaluations.
Bring in forex trades through supported file formats
Start with manual entry or a supported file-import path. File/CSV imports are included in Essential, but compatibility depends on the platform and export format. A broker name alone does not establish that its files are supported.
Automatic broker sync is not currently available. Broker Auto Sync is Coming Soon.
Check the record before reviewing it
Check the pair, quantity, entry and exit details, and available costs against the source report. If the report omits fees or financing, keep that uncertainty in your review. Add screenshots and notes to explain decisions that a trade-history file cannot capture.
Visit Support or Contact Us if you need help checking an import path.
